Berta Kremenstein playing Beethoven's Piano Sonata no. 7, op. 10 no. 3, from a LP released in 1968. Kremenstein (1923-2008) studied with Konstantin Mikhailov in Kiev. During the war, when the Kiev Conservatory was evacuated to Sverdlovsk (Yekaterinburg), she met Heinrich Neuhaus who was in exile there. Later she continued her studies with him in Moscow, graduating in 1950. She taught at the Gnessin Academy from 1951 until the end of her life, and wrote several books on technique and teaching. She was married to another Neuhaus pupil and Gnessin professor, Evgeny Lieberman, whose excellent recording of Shostakovich's op. 34 Preludes I've already uploaded. Timing below:
